- Prof. Adrian Parker has been awarded two research grants to establish a chronology for late Holocene climate and environmental change in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Funding has been provided by the British Foundation for the study of Arabia, and the Emirates Natural History Group.
- Dr Hannah Russ has been awarded research funds from the Emirates Natural History Group to conduct a study on fish remains from two neolithic sites in the United Arab Emirates (Sites: UAQ2 and Akab).
- Zoe Robinson has won the prestigious Council for British Research in the Levant Visiting Research Scholarship. This will enable Zoe to conduct a 12 month fieldwork campaign in Jordan in order to collect primary data for her PhD research.
- Dr Sam Smith has been awarded funding for two field seasons to explore terminal Pleistocene occupation of the Wadi Faynan region, southern Jordan. Funding is provided by the Council for British Research in the Levant.
- Dr Wes Fraser is part of a collaborative project to reconstruct 500,000 years of climate from a tropical African lake core. This project is funded by NERC.
- Dr Wes Fraser has just been awarded a grant by the Royal Society to purchase a new FTIR spectrometer for the laboratory.
